On the 43 degree day we had last week, we were strolling Lucky Bay doing some product photography for a retail stock vendor. Then it happened. We gazed up at the sky to see the clouds rolling in, hearing the bellow of the thunder. For a lanscape photographer, this gave me waves of excitement.
We quickly headed around to Thistle Cove and being unprepared for a landscape shoot, I used what equipment I had with me to shoot the illustrious strikes coming down from the blackened sky. After a few good exposures, we escaped the impending rain just in time.
To create this image I took a series of five or six separate lightning shots and blended them to showcase all of the lightning bolts I had captured into a single photo.
Thistle Cove is situated within Cape Le Grand National Park in Esperance, Western Australia.
